Hull UK City of Culture 2017

Hull was named the UK City of Culture 2017 on 20th November 2013!

Amidst tough competition from Dundee, Leicester and Swansea Bay, Hull had shown it could host the UK's next big cultural event by setting out ambitious plans for a unique and thrilling programme of cultural activity,which would excite communities across the city and far beyond.more than anything the city showed that it could deliver a world-class UK City of Culture programme.

Distinguished writer and broadcaster Rosie Millard is the Chair fo the new company set up to deliver UK City of Culture 2017.

Martin Green who attended the HEYHA meeting in December is the Chief Executive of Hull City of Culture 2017. He was the man behind the 2012 Olympic Ceremonies and Torch Relays and is a major coup for the Hull Team.
